Subrina Hossain is the Chief Executive and Director of NTV Europe, the European arm of NTV, the leading Bangladeshi TV channel for non-resident Bangladeshis around the globe. She is a media executive, philanthropist and a champion of women’s empowerment within the British-Bangladeshi community.
NTV Europe is a subsidiary of NTV, broadcasting to the Bangladeshi diaspora across the UK and Europe. Under Subrina’s leadership it has also given public services such as the Metropolitan Police and the NHS a platform to share their messages with the community.

In September 2019 she was awarded the Freedom of the City of London for her outstanding contribution to British society. On 27 September 2025 she received a Certificate of Recognition from Senator Luis R. Sepulveda of the New York State Senate and a special award from Assemblywoman Yudelka Tapia of the New York State Assembly — the first British person to receive both.
Her work includes campaigns on health and safety and on knife crime, supporting vaccine uptake in the British-Bangladeshi community, more than 4,000 hours of volunteering with the Royal Voluntary Service during the pandemic, fundraising for vulnerable ethnic minorities, and organising the NTV Community Cricket Cup for young people.
As Vice President of the British Bangladeshi Chambers of Women Entrepreneurs she profiles and mentors successful business women, and encourages women who want to become directors or board members. She was also the first woman elected to the Board of Directors of the British Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce, and created NTV’s “Cooking Queen” competition to help women build confidence and new careers.
Yes. Subrina is a qualified training provider and has set up a social enterprise that delivers training for local unemployed people, helping hundreds improve their chances of securing apprenticeships, training and employment. She has also introduced an apprenticeship scheme for 13 to 19 year olds.
